Walton Fire Protection District will be getting a new firehouse (station 1) The expected date to be completely done is May 2009. The firehouse will be located in the new Walton town center located off of Mary C. Grubbs Highway. The expected cost is roughly $3.2 Million on 2 Acres of land. The new firehouse is approximately 17 thousand square feet. Below are some pictures of the proposed firehouse.

 The new fire house is located at 12600 Towne Center Dr. Has ten bed rooms. All the bed rooms are layed out the same way. Each shift personal has their own locker with a key. The bunker room shaped like a "U" has fifty lockers. The day room seats eight. The firehouse has four drive through bays.  The kitchen seats sixteen to eat. Each shift has their own pantry with a fridge. The meeting room is located in the front of the firehouse next to the chief office seats ten to twelve people. The radio room is located next to the bay and and the training room.
