The mission of the Walton Fire Protection District is to respond to fire, hazardous materials, medical and other emergencies.

To mitigate the threat to life and property from fire, illness, injury and other emergencies through education, prevention, community preparedness, emergency response and recovery programs.

The Walton Fire Protection District is committed to protecting the citizens, visitors, property and the environment within our community.
Located in the southern end of beautiful Boone County, Walton Fire District covers over 28 square miles including interstates I 71 and I 75. The department protects over 12 thousand citizens within its boundries as well as providing mutual aid responses to the surrounding areas of Boone, Kenton, Grant and Gallatin counties. Walton Fire district consists of mixed residential, large warehousing, industrial, and some commercial retail.

Made up of 20 career, 17 part-time, and 13 volunteers personnel, the district utilizes 2 stations to provide fire suppression and advanced life support. Station 1, located at 11 High School Court in downtown Walton and Station 2 located at 261 Shorland Drive in Richwood, are staffed 24 hours a day. Station 1 Houses 2 engines, ladder truck, brush truck, hazmat trailer, 1 ambulance, and an ALS chase car. Station 2 houses 1 engine and 1 ambulance.
